Y’all, as my lack of blog posts may reflect, it has been one heck of a week! I just started a new rotation for school (during the last year as a pharmacy student, you don’t actually go to class – instead, you work at different pharmacies throughout the year for about 5-6 weeks each) and it is definitely taking up the majority of my time and energy. As a very appropriate ending to a crazy-hectic week, not even 10 minutes after arriving to the pharmacy this morning I managed to dump the pharmacist’s ENTIRE mug full of hot coffee all over the counter, computer keyboard and printer. Needless to say, it was pretty catastrophic and resulted in someone coming in later that day to replace the fried printer. Oops?
Okay – let’s talk about something way less stressful now! I transitioned this pretty olive top (like everyone else, I’m totally color crushing on olive right now) from work to play by throwing on some distressed denim, suede boots and accessories. Last I checked it was sold out online đ but it is a very recent buy and should still be available in stores. Pictures really do not portray how great of a top this is – it is simple, but the fit is great and it can be appropriate for anything depending on how you accessorize.
Speaking of accessorizing, how adorable is this bow necklace!? IN LOVE! & For that price – come on, you know you need one too. I am really digging the big hat trend this fall, too. Mine is from a local boutique, but this one looks identical. Forever 21 has a TON of really cute hats right now!
My boots are another recent purchase from Nordstrom. I have been on a serious hunt for suede, tall taupe boots. I looked at so. many. different pairs and none of them just seemed like the pair, you know? I was swooning over these Stuart Weitzman’s (beautiful, right?) for a while and came very close to buying (like, I’m talking entered my payment info and everything) but reality hit me and I thought “Umm no Candace – that price tag is INSANE for a pair of boots!” A nice handbag or a pair of timeless, designer heels – maybe. But a pair of trendy boots that I can only wear a couple of months out of the year? I don’t think so! So I kept looking and finally decided on these, and I could not be happier with my choice. They are the perfect taupe color and I was amazed by the price for a pair of boots this nice! Definitely go 1/2 size up on them, because the ankle seam is very narrow and they are pretty hard to get your foot into at first. Besides that, they are very comfortable and I know I am going to wear them a ton throughout winter. That’s all for tonight! Thank you for reading, and have a FUN weekend!
