So who do I have to talk to in order to get more hours of daylight?? Any suggestions!? Cause this whole dark by 5 o’clock thing just is not working very well with taking blog pictures. #thestruggle
Anyways, I hope 2016 is treating you well so far! I wanted to share this outfit that I quickly snapped a few shots of because I loved it so much. It shows how inexpensive pieces can look much nicer depending on what you pair with them. I fancied up this F21 sweater, for example, by adding a pretty pin and pairing it with a nice bag. From there all I needed was some black boots and a red lip for an easy, sophisticated look.
This outfit also reminded me of something that I desperately needed reminding of – and that is, when it comes to fashion, you don’t ALWAYS have to re-invent the wheel. I’m just gonna be real with y’all for a minute – daylight HAS been a major factor in my blogging frequency/lack there of (I leave my house really early and get home after dark every. day. for school) but I also have been having a pretty hard time coming up with new, different outfits every day! Which is weird for me, but I notice this tends to happen when I am trying too hard to be “different” or venture too far out from my style and what I KNOW looks good on me. I think it is so important to always stay true to yourself and don’t get too caught up in keeping up with appearances on social media. I say all that to share my blogging resolution for the new year – 2016 for Sweet Tea, Southern Style will be a complete representation of MY style. I will not compromise on that to post more often. If I don’t have content that I am proud of and that I feel like conveys the brand I am trying to build appropriately, that means I simply won’t post – whether it be a few days or an entire week. Quality over quantity, right? 🙂
Whew.. I hope that was not too much rambling. Hopefully sharing it will keep me accountable, though! What are some of your New Year resolutions?
