So, if you would have told my 16 year old skinny-jean-obsessed self that I would one day once again wear bell-bottoms, I would have no doubt thought you were INSANE. Like, ew. & I have a feeling some of you still may feel that way. But please, just hear me out! I have been having these fun, flared jeans in the back of my closet for I couldn’t even tell you how long (thanks to my fashionista mom for telling me all those years ago that I just HAD to keep them) but was too scared to ever wear them. However, after seeing soo many great outfits styled around flared jeans lately I knew it was time for me to break out of my comfort zone. Now I am happy to admit that I have been converted & I may never look back! Wearing flared jeans with the right shoe is key, but if you find your perfect jean length + heel/wedge height combo then they are super flattering (please, girls, no flats – unless you are really, really tall and if so I envy you). For the summer, I think they are super cute with a light and airy printed tee, long simple necklace (love the KS Rayne necklace) and peep-toe wedges. But in the south, we designate the end of summer & start of fall by one thing & one thing only. Football. And preseason is here, which means it is almost time to break out the fall fashion – am I right ladies!? So expect to see these jeans some more in the upcoming months with sweaters and booties (I can taste my first pumpkin spice latte just thinking about it). I think this pair from Nordstrom look perfect, but American Eagle also has a lot of different washes that are just as cute for a better deal.
OK – enough about flared jeans.. I think you get the point. They are great. & If you don’t already have a pair you can dig out then you NEED a pair to transition into fall. NEED! ..Now I’m done.
Lets talk about shoes and the bag. One of my new found favorite things to do that gives an instant put-together look to any outfit is slightly coordinating your bag with your shoes. This leather tote (another must need staple for fall) from Madewell can go with everything. It’s a bag that you will definitely reach for all the time. Another recent favorite of mine – leather mules. I lovveee these (on sale!) and these. I want a closed toe pair for fall, too. I love that, like the tote, they don’t require much thought. They are just easy, comfortable and stylish.
Thank you so much for reading!
